This interactive course introduces the emergency care provider to the range of injuries that occur during an aviation accident, including physical and emotional and how they differ from motor vehicle incursions. This is a unique opportunity to acquire skills that are underprovided in basic emergency training courses.
Participants will:
Recognize the differences in aircraft and flight deck equipment
Gain knowledge in the aviation field and the benefits of communication within
Train for specialized emergencies and extrications during treetop, land and water crises
Prepare for unique injuries that pilots and passengers sustain
Identify and properly respond to hazards and safely rescue victims
Review steps for incident command and triage as emergency care providers
This is an accredited 4.0 hour continuing education credit course. (Approved: State of Connecticut Department of Emergency Medicine)

Adult, Child and Infant CPR with AED Certification for Emergency and Healthcare Personnel

Who can participate? MRT, FF, EMT, EMT-I, EMT-P, CNA, LPN, RN, PA, APRN, MD (All emergency or healthcare providers)
Course Code: ECPRC (may be combined with course EFAID for First Aide certification)
This popular course introduces the healthcare worker to cardiac emergencies and rescue methods that may be encountered during an emergency in the field. The course is designed to train providers to perform in a high-stress and sometimes chaotic atmosphere. It provides an interactive atmosphere and teaches essential life saving techniques that prepare a provider for an unexpected medical incident.
Participants will:
Learn of the many cardiac emergencies and the early warning signs
Perform updated CPR and AED techniques and procedures
Practice life saving techniques tailored for the healthcare environment
Discuss communications with additional providers to prepare for advanced pre-hospital care
Examine contents of rescue equipment available for use
Demonstrate techniques for cardiopulmonary resuscitation and AED for adult, child and infant emergencies
Review steps for preparing, caring and treating emergencies
Take a certification test to assess their abilities
Participants will be supervised by both an American Red Cross instructor and certified assistants during this course. This is an approved course for yearly recurrent training in healthcare departments. All participants will receive: a textbook, skill cards, exams and an official certification card with a completion certificate. This certification is good for twelve (12) months.
This course may be combined with the first aid course for a complete safety training session.

First Aid Certification for Emergency and Healthcare Personnel
2 hour interactive training program - Classroom presentation, practical experience, certification test
Who can participate? MRT, FF, EMT, EMT-I, EMT-P, CNA, LPN, RN, PA, APRN, MD (All emergency or healthcare providers)
Course Code: EFAID (may be combined with course ECPRC for CPR/AED certification)
This enriching course introduces the healthcare provider to medical emergencies and injuries that may be encountered during a day with your department. The course is designed to train providers to perform in a high-stress and sometimes chaotic atmosphere. It provides an interactive environment and teaches essential life saving techniques and treatments that prepare a provider for an unexpected medical incident.
Participants will:
Learn of the many medical emergencies and the early warning signs
Perform first aid rescue and treatment techniques
Discuss communications with other senior providers to prepare for advanced pre-hospital care
Examine contents of medical equipment and first aid kits available for use
Provide care for multiple medical, psychological or traumatic emergencies
Review steps for preparing, caring and treating emergencies
Take a certification test to assess their abilities
Participants will be supervised by both an American Red Cross instructor and certified assistants during this course. This is an approved course for recurrent training in many health departments. All participants will receive: a textbook, skill cards, exams and an official certification card with a completion certificate. This certification is good for thirty-six (36) months, however some companies require yearly participation.
This course may be combined with the Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED course for a complete safety training session.
